03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - ½ teaspoon celery seeds
05 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper

→ BBQ Sauce

06 - ½ cup ketchup
07 - ½ cup chili sauce
08 - ¼ cup packed brown sugar
09 - ½ teaspoon dry mustard
10 - 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or distilled vinegar
11 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
12 - 1½ teaspoons liquid smoke

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine chili powder, garlic powder, celery seeds, and black pepper in a small bowl.
02 - Rub seasoning thoroughly over entire surface of the brisket. Optionally wrap in plastic and refrigerate overnight to enhance flavor.
03 - Place brisket in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
04 - Combine ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke in a bowl; stir until uniform.
05 - Pour sauce evenly over brisket. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until tender.
06 - Remove brisket and slice thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness. Optionally drizzle some cooking liquid atop slices before serving.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - Cutting against the grain yields a more tender bite. Refrigerating the meat overnight with the rub intensifies flavor.
