01 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
06 - 1/4 teaspoon paprika

→ Meat

07 - 1 1/2 to 2 pounds cube steak (about 4 pieces)

→ Vegetables

08 - 3 stalks celery, chopped (center portion preferred)
09 - 1 small yellow onion, diced
10 - 3 medium carrots, chopped
11 - 2 garlic cloves, minced

→ Liquids and Sauces

12 - 2 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes with juice
13 - 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
14 - 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

→ Other

15 - 1 packet brown gravy mix
16 - 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a shallow wide dish, combine all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
02 - Coat each cube steak piece evenly in the seasoned flour mixture and set aside.
03 - Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the cube steaks 2 pieces at a time until lightly colored on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside. Add more oil if needed.
04 - Place chopped celery, diced onion, and chopped carrots into a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Layer the browned cube steaks on top of the vegetables.
05 - In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, stewed tomatoes with juice, packed light brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and brown gravy mix until combined.
06 - Pour the prepared sauce over the meat and vegetables. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours until the meat and vegetables are tender.
07 - Once cooked, serve the meat and vegetables hot, ideally with mashed potatoes, rice, or your preferred side.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - For a thicker gravy, whisk 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir into the slow cooker. Cook on high for an additional 30 minutes.
02 - Browning the cube steaks enhances flavor and appearance but can be skipped to save time.
03 - Leftovers store airtight in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
