# What You’ll Need:

→ Meat and Aromatics

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
03 - 1 pound lean ground beef
04 - 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
05 - 1 teaspoon sea salt
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
07 - 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
08 - 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
09 - 3 cloves garlic, minced

→ Pasta and Sauce

10 - 12 ounces dried spaghetti, broken in half
11 - 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
12 - 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
13 - 3 cups water, divided

→ Optional Garnish

14 - Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set the Instant Pot to the sauté function and allow it to heat until the display indicates HOT.
02 - Add olive oil and chopped onion to the pot. Cook, stirring often, until onion softens, about 3 to 4 minutes.
03 - Add ground beef, Italian seasoning, sea salt, garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic to the pot. Break up the beef with a spatula and cook until no pink remains, stirring frequently.
04 - Press Cancel to stop sauté mode. Pour in 0.5 cup water and scrape the bottom of the pot to remove any browned bits.
05 - Break spaghetti in half and layer over the meat mixture in a criss-cross pattern, ensuring even distribution.
06 - Pour marinara sauce evenly over the pasta, then add diced tomatoes with their juices on top of the sauce.
07 - Pour the remaining 2.5 cups water around the sides and over the top to fully submerge the pasta. Gently press down with a spatula to ensure all pasta is covered.
08 - Secure the lid, turn the valve to the sealing position, and select Pressure Cook (or Manual) for 5 minutes.
09 - When the cook time completes, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes.
10 - Press Cancel and perform a quick pressure release by carefully turning the valve to venting. Open the lid when the pin drops.
11 - Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine pasta and meat sauce. Serve hot, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese as desired.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - For best results, avoid stirring the pasta before the pressure cooking cycle to prevent sticking or clumping.
