Magical 30-Minute Dorito (Printer-Friendly)

Layers of Doritos, seasoned beef, and cheddar meld into a cheesy, crunchy 30-minute dinner favorite.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Meat

01 - 1 pound ground beef

→ Seasoning and Sauces

02 - 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix
03 - 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
04 - 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup
05 - 1/2 cup whole milk

→ Chips

06 - 4 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos

→ Cheese

07 - 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Continue until fully browned and juices mostly evaporate, about 7 minutes.
02 - Add taco seasoning, diced tomatoes with green chilies, condensed cheddar cheese soup, and milk to the skillet. Stir well, reduce heat, and simmer gently for 5 minutes to blend flavors and thicken sauce.
03 - Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread half of the crushed Doritos evenly on the bottom to create a crunchy base.
04 - Spoon the beef mixture over the Doritos base and spread into an even layer with a spatula.
05 - Sprinkle remaining crushed Doritos and shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until cheese bubbles and browns lightly.
06 - Allow casserole to rest for 5 minutes after baking to set layers for easier serving.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - Crush Doritos just before layering to maintain crispiness. Shred cheese fresh from block for optimal melt and flavor.
02 - Letting the casserole cool briefly before serving helps layers to set and facilitates slicing.
