01 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
02 -
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy. Incorporate the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
03 -
In a separate bowl, whisk the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and salt until evenly distributed.
04 -
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, stirring gently to combine. Avoid overmixing to maintain a soft texture.
05 -
Using a tablespoon measure, scoop and roll dough into 1-inch balls. Arrange them spaced about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
06 -
Lightly press the center of each dough ball with a fork without flattening too much to prevent excessive spreading. Bake on the middle oven rack for 10 minutes.
07 -
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Carefully transfer to a wire rack using a thin spatula, as they will be delicate.
08 -
While still warm, dust cookies with powdered sugar. If some sugar melts, apply another dusting after cookies have completely cooled to achieve a snowy appearance.
