Juicy ground beef patties topped with golden fried onions and cheddar on toasted hamburger buns.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Main

01 - 1.5 pounds ground beef
02 - 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
03 - Salt, to taste
04 - Black pepper, to taste
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
06 - 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
07 - 5 hamburger buns
08 - 5 slices cheddar cheese

→ Optional Toppings

09 - Pickles, as desired
10 - Lettuce, as desired
11 - Tomato slices, as desired
12 - Mayonnaise, as desired
13 - Mustard, as desired

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and blend by hand until evenly seasoned.
02 - Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange five evenly sized mounds of thinly sliced onions in the skillet.
03 - Form the seasoned beef into five equal balls and place one ball on top of each onion mound.
04 - Using a sturdy spatula, flatten each beef ball firmly over the onions to form thin patties.
05 - Cook patties onion-side down for about 6 minutes until onions are deeply browned. Flip the patties and cook until done to your preferred doneness.
06 - Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Set the cooked patties with onions on top of the cheese.
07 - Add pickles and any desired toppings. Cap with the top bun and serve immediately.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - Thinly slicing the onions ensures they soften quickly and develop a rich caramelized flavor during cooking.
