Crispy Air Fryer Apple (Printer-Friendly)

Spiced apple sticks air fried for a golden, crunchy finish with a warm cinnamon coating.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Fruit

01 - 2 Granny Smith apples, sliced into ½-inch sticks

→ Dry Coating

02 - ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
03 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, divided
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
06 - ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves

→ Others

07 - Cooking oil spray
08 - Optional: 1 beaten egg for dipping

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Peel if a softer texture is desired, or leave peel on for added texture. Slice apples into uniform ½-inch thick sticks for even cooking.
02 - In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and half of the powdered sugar to form the spiced dry mixture.
03 - Optional: dip apple sticks in beaten egg to enhance coating adhesion. Then lightly toss apple sticks in the dry mixture until evenly coated.
04 - Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for approximately 3 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil to prevent sticking.
05 - Arrange coated apple sticks in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the tops with cooking oil. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes at 380°F (193°C), shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crispness. Cook until golden and crunchy.
06 - Remove apple fries and immediately toss with remaining powdered sugar or serve alongside caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt for dipping.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - Leaving the peel on increases fiber content and adds a rustic texture.
02 - Monitor cooking closely near the end, as air fryer performance may vary.
03 - Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one day; reheat briefly in the air fryer to restore crispness.
