Seasoned beef and melted cheese on crispy garlic Texas toast for a quick, hearty dinner.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Bread

01 - 8 slices garlic Texas toast (approximately 11.25 oz box)

→ Protein and Aromatics

02 - 1 lb ground beef
03 - 1 small yellow onion, diced

→ Vegetables (optional)

04 - 1 cup sliced baby bella mushrooms

→ Seasonings and Sauces

05 - 1 tsp steak seasoning
06 - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

→ Liquids and Mixes

07 - 1 cup low sodium beef broth
08 - 1 packet low sodium brown gravy mix

→ Cheese

09 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese blend

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Fresh parsley, chopped

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat oven according to Texas toast package instructions (usually 425°F). Arrange 8 slices of garlic Texas toast on a baking sheet and bake as directed, typically for 8 minutes. Once done, reduce oven temperature to 375°F.
02 - While the toast bakes, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until beef is browned and onions are softened. Drain excess grease from skillet.
03 - If using, stir in sliced baby bella mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender.
04 - Stir in steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and low sodium beef broth. Mix well to combine.
05 - Sprinkle brown gravy mix over meat mixture, stir thoroughly, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning with salt or pepper if necessary.
06 - Remove toasted bread from oven. Using the back of a spoon, gently press the center of each slice to create a shallow well. Evenly spoon the beef mixture into each well.
07 - Top each toast slice with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese blend. Return to oven at 375°F and bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
08 - Remove from oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

# Helpful Hints:

01 - For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
02 - Sauté diced green bell pepper along with onions for added color and flavor.
03 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days; reheat in oven or toaster oven at 350°F to maintain toast crispness.
