01 -
Preheat oven according to Texas toast package instructions (usually 425°F). Arrange 8 slices of garlic Texas toast on a baking sheet and bake as directed, typically for 8 minutes. Once done, reduce oven temperature to 375°F.
02 -
While the toast bakes, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until beef is browned and onions are softened. Drain excess grease from skillet.
03 -
If using, stir in sliced baby bella mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender.
04 -
Stir in steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and low sodium beef broth. Mix well to combine.
05 -
Sprinkle brown gravy mix over meat mixture, stir thoroughly, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning with salt or pepper if necessary.
06 -
Remove toasted bread from oven. Using the back of a spoon, gently press the center of each slice to create a shallow well. Evenly spoon the beef mixture into each well.
07 -
Top each toast slice with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese blend. Return to oven at 375°F and bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
08 -
Remove from oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
